Lib Dems oppose county merger

Cllr David Kendall, Leader of the Lib Dem group on Brentwood Borough Council, has reacted angrily to the shock news that Brentwood is going to merge with Essex County Council and be run jointly by the County's Chief Executive Joanna Killion.

The three Liberal Democrat councillors in Pilgrims Hatch are calling on Essex County Council and Brentwood Borough Council to take urgent action to improve the Sandpit Lane junction with the Ongar Road which is one of the worst accident black spots in the Borough.

Conservatives snub residents on Keys Hall petition - UPDATE

Members of the Liberal Democrat group on Brentwood Borough Council have slammed the Conservative administration for snubbing the residents who signed the save Keys Hall petition. The 620 strong petition collected by the Lib Dems was on the agenda at June's Policy Committee but when it came to discussing the item the Conservatives said they simply "noted" it.

Conservatives vote in 147 more flats in Wharf Road

At the Planning meeting on Wednesday 23rd May 2007, the Conservatives voted through the final phase of the 350 flats on the old gas works site in Wharf Road, now known as "The Base", despite strong protests from the Liberal Democrat group.
