The Conservative Government is failing to deliver the promised 449 more police officers for Essex. Analysis of Home Office statistics by the Liberal Democrats has shown that Essex's officer numbers rose by only 169 in the last year.

The decision was made during a heated debate at Brentwood's Ordinary Council meeting on (28/7) when Lib Dem councillors raised a number of key issues and highlighted the Tories failure to consult with Brentwood residents on such an important decision
