Tories gag opposition in revenge campaign

In a blatant act of revenge, Lord Hanningfield and the Conservative administration group at Essex County Council have today (5 August) voted to cut off the only opposition group's one full time support staff in a bid to gag the opposition.

A bold Liberal Democrat bid to get some free parking in Brentwood's town centre car parks whilst the High Street improvements are completed was rejected out of hand by the Conservatives at a stormy Policy Panel meeting on Wednesday night (29/7/09).

New Sunday Bus Service

After years of campaigning by local councillors, the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association and local residents, the southern part of Brentwood is finally getting a much needed Sunday and Bank Holiday bus service. The decision was made by Cllr Norman Hume the Cabinet member for Highways at Essex County Council on Monday.
