In an extremely embarrasing letter to councillors, Tory Leader of the Council Cllr Louise McKinlay has been forced to admit that transferring Brentwood's highways function to Harlow has not worked. The letter admits a number of key failings, including:

Many residents have been shocked to hear of the decision made by the Tory administration running Brentwood Council to either demolish ALL the Town Hall of 87% of it. The building is the borough's most valuable asset and has been a major landmark in the town since it was opened by HM The Queen in 1953.
