Special Council Meeting report

21 Sep 2007

As anticipated, our call for a referendum on the new joint Chief Executive was defeated with all the Conservatives and Labour voting against us.

We also asked that the Special Council meeting form into a committee in order that the subject could be debated properly, Again, we all voted for it and the all Conservatives and Labour voted against.

Finally, there was a vote on the adoption of the County Council's Chief Executive. We voted against it, the Conservatives and Labour voted it in.

(All votes were 29 Con & 2 Lab versus 5 Lib Dem).
