VE Day 80th Anniversary celebration

8 May 2025

It's #veday80thanniversary today

Today, on VE Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all the men and women who served and suffered during the Second World War.

Brentwood Liberal Democrats will be attending the VE Day Flag Raising ceremony at the Town Hall from 10.45 am for 11.00 am start, led by the Mayor of Brentwood, the Right Worshipful Councillor Mark Haigh.

The ceremony is open to all. Councillor Barry Aspinell, the Leader of the Council, will lead the Liberal Democrat Group attending the Ceremony.

As we pause to reflect here in Brentwood and across the Borough - Shenfield, Hutton, Ingatestone - we celebrate the golden generation who gave so much for the peace we enjoy today. Their legacy lives on in our freedom, our democracy, and our enduring commitment to unity in the face of adversity.

We will remember them. 🇬🇧
