School Crossing Patrol "must remain for children's safety"

Cllr Karen Chilvers, Brentwood West, has urged parents and local residents to sign a petition to keep the school crossing patrol at St Peter's School in South Weald.
"This crossing is vital for the safety of the school's pupils and yet, Tory-controlled Essex County Council have said that they will not be recruited any more, possibly leaving the school without the service from Easter. What's more, they won't allow volunteers to carry out the role either."
"We need to do whatever we can to keep the patrol so please sign the petition today."
