Frustrated by the speed of traffic on London Road despite many measures implemented over the past few years, many due to Lib Dem campaigns, Cllr Nigel Clarke has submitted the following to the council to ask for action in slowing the traffic down:

"In London Road, despite numerous attempts to rectify the issue, there is still a major speeding problem that is of great concern to residents in London Road and the surrounding roads.

"I call upon the council to conduct an urgent review (to be conducted the length of London Road from Brook Street roundabout and into the High Street, where it meets Weald Road and Kings Road), into the success of the calming measures implemented to date and provide a detailed breakdown of the speeds along this stretch of road.

"Following this all traffic calming measures, including safety cameras, should be considered by the Highways Panel in an effort to slow traffic to the required 30mph."
