Budget 2026/27 – let the Council have your views.

17 Aug 2026

Brentwood Borough Council is seeking input from residents and businesses through its Budget and Corporate Priorities survey as it prepares to set the 2027/28 budget.

The survey includes important questions such as:

- Should the Council spend more, less, or the same on community safety and enforcement?

- Is it important to you that the Council delivers initiatives aimed at creating a cleaner and greener Borough?

- Do you agree or disagree that we should build more affordable homes and invest in properties in the private rental market?

Each year, Brentwood Borough Council must establish a budget that balances service spending with available funds. The Council's income comes from various sources, including council tax, business rates, self-generated revenue, and specific grants for which it can apply.

Please note that the survey will close on September 8, 2026.

Councillor David Kendall said: “Your Council is keen to hear about what you want us to do as we set our priorities for the next Budget. Please let my colleague, Councillor David Worsfold, and me know by completing the survey below, or by emailing your local Councillor. We will be out and about this summer, so we're always keen to talk."
