Brentwood Lib Dems mourn the loss of Karen Chilvers

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Karen Chilvers.

Karen Chilvers, who represented Brentwood West between 2007 and 2011 and 2012 and 2021, died following a stroke at the end of July. Karen died at Basildon Hospital.

Lib Dem borough colleague Councillor David Kendall said: "Karen was a driving force of energy in the Brentwood Liberal Democrats over many years and encouraged a number of people to stand for the Council and helped to get them elected. She was a champion for many vulnerable people in our community particularly on disability and equality issues."

Brentwood Liberal Democrats have lost a friend and tireless campaigner . Someone who touched the lives of many. So many people had their lives improved by her work and her desire that everyone's needs should be heard.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Karen's family at this difficult time.
