Our two county councillors held their seats last night with convincing majorities and clearly showed that the Lib Dem Fightback is alive and well in Essex!

Cllr Barry Aspinell had a majority of almost 800 and Cllr David Kendall of almost 400 in Brentwood North and South respectively. In Brentwood Hutton and Brentwood Rural we moved up to second place from last year's disappointing third and fourth places with Dominic Naylor and Darryl Sankey flying the flag. The same happened in Ongar & Rural, with Brian Surtees.

Labour, UKIP and the Green Party polled just 15% of the votes across the constituency between them, putting the Liberal Democrats in a very strong position going in to next month's Snap General Election.

Barry and David thanked the teams that had helped them to this magnificent result of achieving their third terms in office and for the residents they continue to work with who have supported them with their votes.
