Ben Rigby is a freelance media consultant and journalist. He has over fifteen years of experience as a legal journalist and copywriter. He lives in Hutton East, with his family, having done so since 1980, save for periods of work or study elsewhere. He is committed to making the borough a better place to live and work, and to supporting Liberal Democrat policies that will help make that possible.
He is a media consultant for Arbitra International, the fast-growing membership support service for arbitrators, mediators, dispute boards and neutrals, and is a principal consultant with Overture, a legal marketing and PR agency, among other roles.
Ben is a non-practising solicitor who has worked in private practice, the Law Society of England & Wales, and the civil service, including the Ministry of Defence and what is now the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities.
He is a past president of the European Young Bar Association and past chairman of the London Young Solicitors Group. He was a trustee of the Law Society's Charity for twelve years. Locally, he is an active member of All Saints' Church, the Friends of Shenfield Library, and was a vaccine volunteer with the NHS in the recent pandemic.
